There are many things we can start looking forward to in May. May means spring in full blossom, summer weather just around the corner, and school entering its final weeks before the much-anticipated break. But we can’t forget May’s most important celebration, Mother’s Day.
Mother’s Day is a holiday meant to show appreciation and honor for mothers and all the hard work they do throughout the year for their families. That is why we like to put all our culinary knowledge to the test by hosting a brunch at our Reno coffee shop that pays homage to all the amazing mother’s out there.
On Sunday, May 12th we will put our delicious lunch menu on the backburner to bring mothers and their families a delicious seven-course brunch. We’ve carefully crafted a gorgeous menu unlike any other in Reno for the occasion.
The seven-course Mother’s Day brunch starts with a Kir Royale, which is a mixed drink comprised of champagne and cassis. (This can, of course, be substituted for a different beverage of your choice.) The second course is Les Kouignettes, a delicious and flaky French pastry served with a special caramel sauce. Our third course will be Oeufs en Cocotte, a French egg dish that we will be serving with spinach, tomato, onion, peppers, and harissa. The fourth course will be Soupe de mais en velours, a sweet and velvety corn soup with chives and popcorn. Our fifth course is a Grilled Peach and Burrata Caprese, a light Italian salad we will serve with arugula, peaches, burrata (a fresh Italian cheese made from mozzarella and cream), basil coulis, and balsamic glace.
After all that deliciousness we will come to our sixth course, the entrée. We have four entrées to choose from Cinnamon Roll Pancakes, Salmon Street Tacos, Maiale al Latte, and Smoked Brisket Hash. The Cinnamon Roll Pancakes have caramel, pecans, and a cream cheese glaze. The Salmon Street Tacos are served on a chickpea tortilla with salmon, pickled vegetable slaw, and avocado-cilantro crema. We also have a vegetarian option for the tacos, where we replace the salmon with roasted cauliflower. Maiale al Latte is pork shoulder with braised-milk mustard seed gravy and rosemary spaetzle. Finally, the Smoked Brisket Hash is our smoked brisket with bell peppers, potatoes, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, scallions, and sour cream.
The final course will, of course, be dessert! We take dessert seriously at our Reno bakery, so for that reason, we will be serving Baba au Grand Marnier. A cake soaked in Grand Marnier with chocolate chips and Chantilly. We have crafted this menu to give mothers an exquisite eating experience on their special day. Mothers do so much work and we want to give them something really special.
Now, you may have read all about our menu and thought “wow that all looks so delicious, but I don’t think my children would like a lot of those courses.” Don’t worry we took that into consideration and made a kid’s menu, so they can eat alongside you with the same number of courses. The courses have been altered to be child-friendly while remaining elegant and delicious.
Our Mother’s Day brunch menus can be found online here. We are hosting the brunch during two different times, 9 am and 12 pm, so you can pick the time that works best for your family. Come honor mother’s the right way at one of the best Bakeries in Reno! Tickets are going fast so be sure to go online and reserve your spot!
